Day 16 - Oceans Beach
An early start, feet on the trail by 6:00am was James advice. Waking up early did treat me to a sunrise however. Usually people start at different times in the morning depending when they get out of the tent, but today we were all starting together, some 22 of us.
A muddy slipper track down.
Trapped dead possum, first one I’ve seen.
People in the distance crossing the second
11 am photo looking back down a small mountain we’re had to climb. It had a recently renovated track. Quick nice walking.
On the other side we had a 10km beach walk. A deserted beach by the very original name of ‘Oceans Beach’. The sand here was very soft and we all ended up taking our shoes off and walking barefoot for the length of it. If 90 mile beach was anything like this we would have died.
The mountains that loomed in the distance would be tomorrows challenge.
Camp at the end of the beach, after a cheeky swim of course.
