Day 45 - Owhango
A shorter day today, 25km. One because it’s the first day on the legs for a while, and two because it’s nearly 30°C and sunny. Summer is here in force, brutally so.
I found a curious Ostrich.
11am photo. A day of mostly roads. Lame.
Waiting for the farmers to get their cows through.
The town I’m staying close to, Owhango, where the 42 Traverse hike starts. This I will walk tomorrow to get to Tongariro.
I reached a green grass patch 2km past Owhango where I could pitch my tent for free. It had a gorgeous river that I was only too keen to swim in after such a hot day.
