Day 21 - Dome Cafe

A rollercoaster day. A pleasant 26km, but with ~1500m of elevation to the camp spot Dome Cafe. 

A lawnmower bike!?

A stick bug!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before

The start of the Te Hikeo Te Kid track opened by Sir Edmund Hillary no less! I thought that was really cool.

Doubt. 

Single track the whole day, feels great. NZ tracks are usually quite muddy and steep. 

Dense native bush. 

We arrived later than expected at the Dome cafe. A closed cafe, but the owners are trail angels and let TA’ers camp in their garden. She even came out and gave us  some cake. Legends.
