Day 110 - South Mavora Lake
It rained hard in the night and I woke to find the mountains covered in snow. The snow makes these mountains looks much more dramatic.
A brisk walk over the high mountain valleys. The snow dusted mountaintops made for a scenic walk.
A hut I passed had an old wagon wheel spoke as a turnstile.
More tall grasses tussocks here, meaning no trail and getting lost often.
I reached Mavora Lakes. A scenic small valley. They filmed some Fellowship of the Ring shots here. I intended to camp here for the night but decided to push for another big day. I’ve decided to split the section I’m on into 2 days rather than 3.
I ended up pitching on south Mavora Lake. The beach was too beautiful for me not to stay here. I sat on the beach watching the sun go down and eating my dinner.
